Cancellations

Check this website for the latest updates on cancellations or to find out as soon as a decision has been made to cancel or delay please sign up to our free text messaging service.

 To receive cancellations and other important text messages please ensure you sign up - you will only be charged the normal sms charge for the sign up text message you send - after that the text messages to you will be free!

 SMS the White City code of  57565957 along with your name to 0416 905 545. For example text 57565957 Kate Barnard to 0416 905 545.

Signing up to this service will also ensure that you recieve texts from the TLAA when the state events are cancelled - as was the case on the weekend with the northern all state was cancelled.

 WELCOME TO NORTH LAUNCESTON - WHITE CITY

North Launceston White City Little Athletics Centre Inc is one of 3 Little Athletics Centres in Launceston. It caters for the Northern suburbs, and the East Tamar as far as George Town. We are based at Rocherlea Football Ground and have a membership of around 110 male and female athletes of all abilities ranging in age from U6 to U15. In addition we have our dedicated parents, guardians, grandparents, etc without whom athletics would not happen each week.

NL - WCLAC consists of three clubs, these being; Mowbray, Rocherlea and George Town.  Each club offers training sessions and some specific club activities.

NL - WCLAC conduct a number of athletic events including but not limited to sprints, middle and long distance track events, race walking, hurdles, vortex, turbo javelin, javelin, discus, shot put, long jump, triple jump, high jump and skills development.  In addition we provide activities for younger siblings, including a Tiny Tot program.  The events offered are age appropriate and divided over 3 separate programs. 

Weekly meetings are offered from October to March mainly on Saturday mornings commencing at 9am, and twilight meetings are scheduled on Thursday or Friday evenings and will commence at 5pm.  The season finishes with Club Championships offered over the last two meetings and the State Individual Championships in March.

 We are pleaed to advise that we have a full committee of dedicated and enthusiastic parents who will continue to work during the off season on improvements to our centre.

The next White City Committee Meeting will be held at the Signal Station Tavern, Mount Direction on Wednesday 14th March at 7pm.

Committee meetings are important as it gives the Committee a chance to discuss the needs of the Centre and is the platform to introduce changes that we think maybe required.

Every parent at White CIty is invited to attend these meetings, you do not need to be on the Committee to be able to attend - so please come along and get involved with your Centre.

End of Season Celebrations!

All clubs will come together for the end of season celebrations.  These will be held at Lagoon Beach, Low Head on Sunday 18th March at 10.30am.  Trohpy presentations will be at 11am.

Please bring along your picnic rug or deck chair and of course bathers and towels!  If you have not already rsvp'd to your club please do so asap.

Please remember to return your NLWCLAC Feeback form - you can bring it along with you to the end of season bbq of pass along to any of the Committee Members.

Congratulations!! 

Congratulations to Katie Broad of Mowbray!  Katie recieved the State U13 Sportsmanship Award at the State Individual's in Hobart last weekend.  Good work!

Congraulations also to the NLWCLAC athletes that competed at the State Individuals, there were so many Personal Bests achieved and Placings.

It is that time again.  We have several positions on the NLWCLAC Committee that become vacant at the end of this season - and we need you to fill one of them!!!!
